Integrating banking payments into ERPNext helps businesses manage their finances more smoothly and efficiently. This integration makes it easier to pay vendors and employees, including handling payroll. It also allows for regular bank statement reconciliation (if the bank supports it) and automates payment entries, reducing the errors that come with manual processing.
This facility is currently available with only a few Indian banks and can be accessed by account holders upon request. We spent over a year identifying current account holders with good transactional histories to obtain API access. As these banks are now offering more feature-rich APIs and simplifying the process of granting API access, we aim to make this a common feature through a custom Frappe app called “India Banking”.
We will develop the ERPNext banking payment flow and related customisations within the India Banking app, providing connectors to the available server-side apps.
This structure of server-side apps is essential due to the security requirements of banks, including static IPs, managing the certificates and keys and the demand of specific environments from certain banks.
This structure ensures flexibility in various deployment environments.
